The Academy coach at Burton is former Leicester City player Mike Whitlow, and he brought a side with an average age of 17 years old, who were caught cold in the second minute when a right wing cross found Dynamo front man Kris Nurse on his own in the penalty area. Nurse stooped to head home and give Dynamo an early lead.
Both sides then proceeded to play a passing game on a surface suited for such play, and several Burton players showed promising skills, the visitors coming into the game more.
Both sides had chances to score, but Dynamo were the better team and the second goal of the match arrived in the forty-fifth minute. Following a superb right wing run by Tom Byrne, his cross was turned home by Bruno Holden to give Dynamo a deserved 2-0 lead.
As in friendly matches, there were many substitutions in the second half, but the standard of play remained the same. In a repeat of the first half, both sides had opportunities to score but neither goal was breached, Dynamo running out worthy winners 2-0.
After the game Dynamo manager Tom Brookbanks said "Both sides contributed to a very good game. I feel it's the first complete 90 minutes we've played well this pre season, and the squad is coming together".
