On a glorious summer's evening Loughborough Dynamo and Leicester City played out a very enjoyable pre season game, the visitors coming away with a 1-0 victory.

The game was the first home game of Dynamo's pre season campaign, and the pitch looked immaculate in the evening sunshine, with a healthy crowd present.

The match was the first event in marking Dynamo's 60th anniversary, which falls in 2015 with the club spreading it's celebrations over the two seasons which take in the year of 2015.

Dynamo was the first side to have a chance in the eleventh minute, with Nathan Watson clean through and one on one with City goalkeeper Adam Smith, with Watson hitting the post.

City, with new signing from Manchester United Louis Rowley making his debut in the number 3 shirt, responded to this warning with Corey Williams heading wide of the Dynamo goal two minutes later, and then opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute. Joe Dodoo pick up the ball just inside his own half, ran at pace at the Dynamo defence before firing the ball across goal for City number 9 Jacob Blyth to put home past new goalkeeping signing James Lindley.

This gave City a confidence boost and they had a sustained period of looking the better side. In the twenty-seventh minute City hit the bar twice within seconds, through Corey Williams and Blyth, but Dynamo weathered this period and held their own without threatening to equalise.

As half time approached both sides had chances. First referee Ian Smedley waved away penalty appeals from City for handball, the ball being driven at a defender from two yards away. Then the forty-first minute saw Lindley produce a good save from Williams, and a minute later Watson headed wide at the other end.

The half came to an end with City deserving their lead, but Dynamo had more than held their own.

At the start of the second half Dynamo made widespread changes. City made two changes initially, goalkeeper John Maddison coming on for Smith and full Lithuanian international forward Simonas Stankevicius replacing Blyth.

The match continued in the same competitive vein, with Maddison called into action in the fifty-first minute, saving from Luke Smithson. Two minutes later City's Ryan Meadows shot narrowly over Dynamo's goal. Smithson was again in the middle of the action in the fifty-sixth minute, firing just over.

Midway through the half City's Jak McCourt drew a good save from Alex Pycock, Dynamo's second half goalkeeper, then in the sixty-eighth minute City right back Matthew Mile hit the frame of the Dynamo goal from an acute angle.

Back came Dynamo, with Dean Gent drawing another good save from Maddison, who turned Gent's powerful shot over the bar.

That was the last opportunity for either side. Dynamo continued to press for an equaliser, with City holding the home side at bay to come away with a 1-0 victory.

Overall a good match for both sides as they build up for the new season, with Dynamo far from outclassed.
