Loughborough Dynamo slipped to an ill deserved defeat at the Nanpantan Sports Ground on Saturday.

In their last home friendly before the start of the 2014-15 season, Loughborough Dynamo were unlucky to lose 3-1 to the academy side of Football League Division 2 club Burton Albion.

The visitors, coached by former Leicester City left back Mike Whitlow, nearly went a goal down in the first few minutes, goalkeeper Charlie Hornby producing an outstanding save from Dynamo's new club captain Steve Towers.

The visitors started to come into the match, and looked the more likely of the two sides to score. However Dynamo's defence kept Albion at bay and the half remained scoreless.

On the restart the deadlock was broken within sixty seconds, the visitors number 9 Shayne Yates picked up a loose ball in the Dynamo area to slot home into an empty net.

The match then ebbed and flowed, with Dynamo threatening to equalise. The home side did just that in the sixty-fourth minute when player-coach Lee Morris, on as a substitute, set up Luke Smithson, who slotted home under the goalkeeper for a deserved equaliser.

As the match entered the last ten minutes it looked as if Dynamo had earned a deserved draw, but were then hit by two goals in as many minutes.

The eighty-second minute saw Shay Allen score with a left foot shot through a crowd of players from a corner. A minute later Marcus Delanga turned home a left wing cross.

This deflated a rather unlucky Dynamo side, and Albion played out the final few minutes to record a 3-1 win.

Dynamo have one more pre season friendly, when the side travels to London on Saturday August 9th to face Walthamstow based Essex Senior League side Waltham Forest FC.
