Dynamo fielded only two players who started the previous Saturday against Quorn, with six debutants in the starting lineup,

but failed to stop a six goal second half romp for Grantham

Dynamo started brightly and Chima Dozie was just wide with a snap shot on the turn. On 6 mins Dynamo opened their account when Jack Roberts intercepted a poor clearance and rounded Rob Murray to score. Back came Grantham and both Gary Pritchard and Danny Hargraves were guilty of missed chances when well placed. However, on 33 mins Dynamo took a 2-0 lead when a quick free kick by Sam Woods sent Carl Adams clear and the strikers cross found Dozie unmarked to score with ease past the stranded Murray. Although Dynamo were 2-0 up they were having problems with the Gingerbread men's tactics of hoofing the ball forward into the Dynamo box, a tactic which paid dividends in the second period.

Almost immediately after the second period kick off Grantham launched the ball into the Dynamo area, the defence failed to deal with the cross and Pritchard headed home Granthams first. Grantham were in the acendancy now and a foul on Pritchard resulted in a penalty which was superbly saved by Kamil Mann-Keir. Somewhat against the run of play Dynamo fashioned a great move involving Noble and Way whose cross was headed home by Dozie for his second and Dynamo's third. Within 5 mins Grantham had pulled level when firstly Rhys Lewis collected a great throughball from Chris Glarvey , rounded Mann-Kerr to score and Granthams third came after a super move involving Pritchard and Gio Carchedi allowed the latter a free header to score on 70 mins.
Dynamo response was immediate and within 30 seconds were 4-3 up when Dozie turned in the Grantham box and his left foot strike hit the back of the net before Murray could move. This was probably Dynamo's last real involvement in the game as Grantham bombarded their penalty area with ball after ball, with Dynamo unable to close down and cut out the crosses the result was inevitable. On 77 mins Grantham equalised when a Lee Potts cross was deflected to Matt Glass who glanced home his header and took the lead on 87 mins when Ben saunders scored another header from a Alistair Asher free kick. Rhys Lewis then headed over the crossbar before Grantham rounded off the nights scoring in injury time, Lee Potts ran from the halfway line taking him past half hearted challenges and he fired into the net from just inside the penalty area to end Dynamo's poor second half performance.
