However in truth they never really threatened Lincoln whose defense was well marshalled by ex Mansfield Town player Stuart Reddington.
During the first 20 mins Dynamo had the lions share of possession but lacked any punch in the final third. Luke Edwards looked the most lively and his run and cross evaded the on-rushing Andy Tiday. Karl Noble then shot well over after good work from Calum Ross before Lincoln registered their first effort on goal after 25 mins when Chris Funnell tested Dynamo keeper, Kahil Mann-Kerr. Almost immediately after Lincoln's Kallum Smith rounded Mann-Kerr but his goal bound effort was cleared by Jake Dale-Brown. Dynamo were unable to keep possession during this stage and Sam Wilkinson bought the best save of the game out of Mann-Kerr. Dynamo best chance of the half came on 38 mins when Edwards was left with a one on one wtih the Lincoln keeper Phil McGann, the keeper winning that battle. The sparse crowd yawned, time for that caffeine shot and as they made their way to the clubhouse Sam Wilkinson rose highest from a corner to head home.
Dynamo had the first, and probably their only, chance in the second period when a great ball by Jenno found Reece Lester whose first time cross found Ross who had ghosted in at the near post, his header well saved by McGann. Fortune turned in Lincoln's favour on 55 mins when Jenno was adjudged to have fouled Funnell and being last man was shown a straight red. The resulting free kick was hammered home by Funnell. It was all Lincoln since the dismissal and Funnel scored his second and Lincoln's third when he curled the ball in the top corner from 20yds. Poor defending by Dynamo allowed Funnel to deliver the perfect cross for substitute Scott Coupland but his shot from point blank range was superbly saved by Mann-Kerr. However, Coupland was not to be denied and on 85 mins swept home a flowing move involving Wilkinson, Funnell and Smith to end Dynamo's involvement in the Presidents Cup.
