Today’s match report on our 2-2 draw

Loughborough Dynamo drew 2-2 in an entertaining friendly against Staveley Miners Welfare FC today as they continued their preparation for the new season.
In a game of two halves, both teams had positive spells and had enough chances to win the game.
Staveley started the better of the two sides as Dynamo struggled to get used to the artificial surface.
It took just eight minutes for the deadlock to be broken as Staveley launched a counterattack from a Dynamo corner and the ball broke to their number 9 down the left and he cut into the box and scored to make it 1-0.
The Moes did respond well to going behind and they had a good 10-minute spell where they created a few chances with both Dan Collins and Curtis Burrows getting into good positions but were unable to find the net.
After that though Staveley really took control of the first half and could have added more goals if it wasn’t for a fine save from Dynamo goalkeeper Jay Alexander.
However, just before half time, Staveley did make it two with their number 10 scoring a direct free kick from 25 yards out which beat the wall and the keeper.
After half time, though, the tide turned completely. Two changes by Brad Munn at half time bringing on Alex Steadman and Rob Norris really changed the course of the game.
Ten minutes into the second half, Alex Steadman had the ball in the box and was brought down by the Staveley defender and Curtis Burrows sent the keeper the wrong way to keep his penalty record going.
And just two minutes later, Michael Jacklin scored his first goal for the club as he jumped highest at the back post to head home from Burrow’s corner to equalise for the Moes.
After that both teams had chances to win it, but a draw was probably a fair result. Dynamo now move on to their next game which is on Saturday away at Stapenhill FC.
