Here’s the match report from tonight’s home friendly against Mickleover

Loughborough Dynamo fell to defeat tonight in their penultimate pre season friendly as they lost 5-2 to Mickleover FC at home.

In a game that saw every Loughborough Dynamo player get some game time, the amount of changes did disrupt their rhythm as the game wore on.

There was a quiet start to the game as both teams passed the ball around nicely. But after just 16 minutes, the referee gave a penalty to Mickleover after Jack Smith pulled down their attacker in the box and their number 9 duly dispatched it.

After that Dynamo did grow into the game and hold their own against the team who play at a higher level but chances were at a premium.

However, the Moes did equalise through Tristan Matthews after the half hour mark when a long Danny Gordon throw fell to Matthews and he tucked the ball away.

At half time, Loughborough did make four changes and another four followed through the course of the second half as manager Lee Attenborough wanted to give every player some game time with the new season just 10 days away.

Mickleover scored to make it 2-1 just two minutes into the second half which set the tone for what was to come.

Dynamo did have chances though as Danny Gordon broke into the box and his shot was touched onto the bar and Sibson headed over from a free kick.

However, Mickleover then scored three times in a 10 minute period. Their numbers 2, 9, and 11 all scored good goals to make it 5-1.

Dan Collins did then manage to pull a goal back for Dynamo as a consolation with a neat finish between the keepers legs to make it 5-2 with just a couple of minutes to go.

With just 10 days to go until the competitive season starts the most important thing was that all the squad managed to get some game time and stay injury free as they look to fine tune a few things ahead of the game against Spalding on August 14th
