Our take on Dynamo’s fifth win and fifth clean sheet in a row

Loughborough Dynamo extended their run of clean sheets to five after beating Sutton Coldfield 1-0.

It was a win that the Moes had to work hard for and grind out and the outcome could have been a lot different if Sutton Coldfield Town had taken their chances.

Dynamo came into the game with five key players unavailable and two more first team regulars only fit enough for a place on the bench.

Loughborough started quite sluggishly and struggled to get to grips with the game. Sutton Coldfield had three decent chances in the first 15 minutes to score but they struggled to find the target on a regular basis.

Just after the half hour mark, Dynamo Head Coach Brad Munn had to sub on Kevin Bastos despite him being ill as injury struck the squad again.

With six minutes to go until half time, Sutton Coldfield had their best chance of the game as their number nine had a shot that was spilt by Lewis King and a goaline scramble ensued but the ball stayed out.

Almost immediately Sutton Coldfield were punished for not taking their chance as Kevin Bastos burst past his man down the left and into the box and was taken down and the referee had no choice but to give a penalty.

James Tague stepped up to take the penalty and scored low to the keepers right to score his third goal of the season.

The second half was quite quiet for the majority of it, with Sutton Coldfield dominating and pushing for an equaliser but never really troubling Lewis King in the Dynamo goal.

However, on 72 minutes the game sprang back into life as a strong challenge on Kevin Bastos saw the winger react by raising his arms towards the defenders head.

As other players from Sutton Coldfield reacted this left a lot of bad blood between the two teams and just two minutes later Harry Sawyer was sent off for Sutton Coldfield for another poor challenge on Bastos.

As the clock reached injury time a Sutton Coldfield corner was floated in and a powerful header went towards goal but Lewis King was there just as he has so reliably in the last few games to keep it out!

After the game Dynamo head coach Brad Munn spoke of how pleased he was to get the result despite the team not playing it’s best and he insisted all the pressure was off his team as they head into a top of the table clash away at Halesowen Town on Tuesday night.
