Our take on the game that saw both sides earn a point

Loughborough Dynamo were fortunate to come away with a point after scoring a last-minute equaliser at home to Coleshill Town.

It was a game where The Moes didn’t play to their usual standards, and they struggled to ever really get going. Dynamo struggled to offer anything going forward and their usual defensive solidity wasn’t on show either.

Coleshill Town took the lead after just eight minutes when a long ball came into the box from a free kick taken just inside the Dynamo half. It was a poor goal to concede as not one Dynamo player seemed to be switched on to the threat and they all stood watching as Taylor Byrne ghosted in unmarked and placed a header in the bottom corner of the Dynamo goal.

Dynamo had a chance to make up for their early mistake and get back on level terms just seven minutes later. Kevin Bastos picked up the ball on the left and made a run into the box. As nearly every team has done so far this season, the defender couldn’t keep up with the run of Bastos and he was brought down, and the referee gave a penalty.

However, this time Kevin Bastos was unable to convert the penalty that would have put Dynamo back on level terms. He managed to send the keeper the wrong way but then skied the penalty horribly over the bar to keep The Moes 1-0 down.

The Loughborough defence struggled to learn from their mistake early on and it could have been 2-0 midway through the first half when Taylor Byrne found himself unmarked again as a cross came in from the left but this time his header went just wide.

Nathan Whitehead did put the ball in the back of the net for Dynamo towards the end of the first half but the assistant linesman had his flag up for offside.

Loughborough Dynamo manager Brad Munn made a change at half time as he looked to add more attacking threat in the second half. But neither side really managed to create many clear-cut chances in the second half and the game looked like it was petering out.

But as the clocked ticked over the 90-minute mark substitute Isaac Stones picked the ball up on the right hand side and made a great run into the box and his cross to the back post left Kevin Bastos with an easy tap in to salvage a point for Loughborough.

Attention now turns again to the FA Trophy for Loughborough Dynamo as they will be hosting Worksop Town in the Third Qualifying Round on Saturday in a 3pm kick off.
