Both sides looked like they were suffering a Boxing Day hangover as Loughborough Dynamo drew 1-1 at home with Hinckley LRFC.
Illness and injury meant that Dynamo were three or four players short coming into the game but that didn’t stop them from getting off to a fast start.
Loughborough should have been ahead inside the first 60 seconds as James Tague was free inside the box but somehow sent his shot wide of the post.
But it didn’t take long for Dynamo to take the lead. Just nine minutes in Eddie Bamfo scored his first Dynamo goal after dispossessing a defender in the box and his shot was punched into the air by the keeper but the ball looped back over his head and into the net to make it 1-0.
That first 10 minutes was as good as it got for Loughborough Dynamo as the rest of the first half petered out with very little action and Hinckley LRFC didn’t really get going at all.
However, Hinckley came out and dominated the second half and showed why they are near the top of the form table.
And their dominance paid off just after the hour mark when Ben Humphreys was left unmarked at a corner and he headed home to make it 1-1.
The equaliser meant it would be an exciting end to the game with both sides pushing for a winner but neither side truly tested the opposition keeper and both sides came away with a point.
Dynamo manager Brad Munn was visibly disappointed with both the result and the performance and he wanted to see more from his team.
