Our match report from Saturday

Loughborough Dynamo struggled to get going and fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat away at Chasetown.

There was a lot of intrigue around how the team would perform given it was their first game without winger Kevin Da Silva Bastos.

And the Moes did start well. Loughborough could have been ahead within the first minute as they attacked straight from the kick off. Midfielder Ollie Clark got in behind and had a shot on goal but the keeper pushed it behind for a corner.

Dynamo started the game with two strikers up front and it seemed to be a formation that worked well as both Evan Garnett and new signing Tyreace Palmer looked lively and tried to make things happen.

However. 15 minutes in the game turned and Chasetown started to dominate. Just after the quarter of an hour mark, Chasetown had a free kick on the right. The high ball came in and Ryan Boothe was able to direct his header into the far corner of the goal.

After going behind, Loughborough did try to rally and made some good opportunities but struggled to really test the Chasetown keeper.

With ten minutes to go until half time, Chasetown were two ahead. Luke McGinnell put the ball into his own net for the second time in two games as a low cross came in and as he went to clear it, the ball bounced off him and into the net.

Dynamo manager Brad Munn was clearly not happy with the way the first half went as he made a double substitution at half time bringing on Webster and Ogunmekan for Finnerty and Young.

As Munn said in his post match interview, his team tried to give it a go in the second half but didn’t really do enough.

The game was petering out for most of the second half but it didn’t stop Chasetown striker Jack Langston from getting his goal with six minutes to go and the game ended 3-0.
