Dynamo 1 Dereham 2

A crazy five minute spell saw Loughborough Dynamo fall to a 2-1 defeat at home to Dereham Town.

Midway through the first half, Dereham striker Matt Blake put Dereham ahead before Dynamo missed a penalty just a minute later.

Within 60 seconds of missing the penalty, Dynamo found themselves 2-0 down as Matt Blake got his second.

Dynamo striker Evan Garnett pulled a goal back in first half stoppage time but it wasn’t enough and Dereham came away with their first league win in 10.

Before the game, the home club did a food collection for the Trussell Trust Loughborough area foodbank which was again well supported by fans.

But on the pitch the game started slowly and Dereham looked the more fired up of the two teams as they looked to continue their fight against relegation.

Debutant Matt Blake started up front for Dereham and he put his side ahead in the 22nd minute as he turned home a cross from the left.

Dynamo responded by attacking straight from the kick off and when Evan Garnett was brought down in the penalty area, the home side thought they were back in it.

However, George Ball’s penalty was saved low to the keepers left as the keeper palmed it away.

Dereham counter attacked straight away and within 30 seconds of the penalty save Matt Blake had scored his second after turning home another cross.

Dereham could have been further ahead before half time as first they hit the bar before Lewis King was forced into a good save from a free kick.

But in first half injury time, Dynamo were given hope as Evan Garnett got a goal back from inside the penalty area.

But The Moes never looked like equalising in the second half and Dereham could have extended their lead but Matt Blake missed a penalty for his hat trick in what was a very quiet second half.
