A very good performance on Non-League Day sees us take all three points

Loughborough Dynamo put in the perfect away performance to come away with a win at Gresley.

A goal from Callum Cocks put Dynamo ahead in the first half before Evan Garnett capped off the win on Non-League Day.

The Moes dominated the game from minute one to minute 90 and never really let their hosts get a grip of the game.

The 2-0 victory was Loughborough’s first away win since October and the team will be hoping to use it as a springboard for a strong run in.

A heavy downpour in the couple of hours before kick off changed the way the game would be played with the ground taking on a lot of water.

Dynamo started the game strongly and this was how it continued throughout the game.

In particular, Dynamo took advantage of the poor performance of Gresley keeper Lewis Fenney who struggled with his distribution and positioning.

Just a couple of minutes into the game, he was almost caught out by a long range Evan Garnett effort that went wide.

Fenney almost got caught out again when he gave the ball straight to Dynamo striker Aaron Cole 30 yards out but his effort went just wide.

Dynamo midfielder George Ball was often the target of some crunching tackles during the first half and when Dynamo opened the scoring seven minutes from half time it was a result of one of these tackles that the referee judged to be a foul

Callum Cocks stepped up to take the free kick from 30 yards out and found the bottom corner on the keepers side to make it 1-0.

Despite struggling in the first half, Gresley had their keeper to thank for ensuring the scoreline wasn’t a lot more comfortable in the second half.

The keeper made three good saves from Evan Garnett shots and also denied George Ball a goal as well.

Gresley did push forward looking for an equaliser as they continue their battle to avoid the bottom four but they never really tested Lewis King in the Dynamo goal.

And Evan Garnett put the game beyond doubt 15 minutes from time as he picked up the ball in the box and beat the keeper to make it 2-0 to the Moes.
