Our final game of the season ends in victory

Loughborough Dynamo ended the season on a high with a 3-1 win away at St Neots.

Dynamo took the lead against the run of the play in the first half through Jack Gibson before St Neots equalised within two minutes.

But an excellent second half performance saw George Ball and Evan Garnett secure the win with two fine finishes.

The result sees Loughborough leapfrog rivals Shepshed and end the season in top 10.

The game was also the final one for manager Brad Munn who is leaving the club after five years and assistant manager Lewis McGugan.

The first half had a real end of season feel to it with St Neots already confirmed to be in a relegation play off and Dynamo not really having anything to play for.

The only real incident of note in the first 30 minutes was when Dynamo goalkeeper Lewis King had a rare lapse in judgement and picked up the ball in the box from a back pass.

St Neots were given an indirect free kick in the box but it went straight into the wall.

After the free kick, St Neots built up a head of steam and Lewis King had to make a number of saves to keep the scores level.

But despite not having a shot in the first 40 minutes it was Dynamo who took the lead. Jack Gibson pounced on a defensive mistake to put Dynamo ahead.

But just two minutes later Joe Rider equalised for St Neots and could have been ahead just a couple of minutes later when Rider hit the post.

However, the second half was a different story. Dynamo controlled the game and St Neots struggled to get out of their own half.

And within the space of two minutes both George Ball and Evan Garnett cut inside from the left and found the corner of the net to give Dynamo a 3-1 win.

After the game presentations were made to Lewis King who was voted players player of the season, defender Ed Cook who was young player of the year and centre back Nathan Whitehead who was managers player of the year.
