Evan Garnett’s last minute winner helped earn all three points.

An injury time winner helped Loughborough Dynamo to a 3-2 win away at play off chasing Sporting Khalsa.

A stoppage time goal in the first half from Taylor Anderson got Dynamo back level in the game before George Ball and Evan Garnett secured the points in the second half.

The result sees Dynamo breath a little easier after extending their lead over those hunting them down while Sporting Khalsa now see themselves 14 points behind Loughborough.

Dynamo came into this game on their worst run of the season having failed to win any of their last three games picking up just one point.

And they knew it was going to be tough against a side who made the play offs last year and desperately wanted to be there again.

With a lot riding on the game it started very cagily with both sides cancelling each other out and not being willing to throw many players forward.

But Khalsa got a bit of luck midway through the first half when a mazy run through Dynamo’s half saw the ball eventually fall to Robbie Bunn who saw his shot take a big deflection and find the back of the net.

Loughborough have had a habit in recent weeks of going a goal a down and so they’re used to chasing games.

And right on the stroke of half time they were level. Dynamo had been threatening from set pieces all half and when the ball fell to Taylor Anderson at a corner he fired into the roof of the net to send the sides in level.

Khalsa’s heads could have dropped at losing their lead but it was them who came out in the second half looking the livelier of the two teams and looking like they wanted it more.

Dynamo goalkeeper Lewis King was called upon a few times to keep the scores level as The Moes desperately tried to stay in the game.

But with 20 minutes to go a bit of magic from George Ball turned the game on its head. The midfielder did brilliantly to turn his man on the edge of the box and Ball poked home into the bottom corner of the net.

But even at 2-1 the game had more twists in it yet. Khalsa refused to be beaten and immediately pushed for an equaliser.

And just seven minutes they had it. The ball dropped kindly to Chay Tilt on the edge of the box who unleashed a ferocious effort on goal that beat everyone to make it 2-2.

As time ticked down it looked like these two sides would be sharing the points but when Garnett received the ball in the area in stoppage time with his back to goal he expertly held the ball up turned his man and fired home to give Dynamo all three points.

After the game both the players and management team were jubilant as they recognised the significance of the result and it will give the side a much needed boost as they go into the final seven games.
