After yesterday's 3-2 defeat we spoke to the management team.

A crazy second half saw Loughborough Dynamo’s two goal lead disappear in their local derby at home to Quorn AFC as the away side won 3-2.

Despite taking a two goal lead into the half time interval thanks to goals from Mitchell Robinson and George Ball, The Moes came away with nothing thanks to goals from Cain Noble, Paddy Webb and a penalty from Ryan Beswick.

Despite the result, Loughborough Dynamo still sit in fourth place in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division, seven points above near neighbours Quorn who sit in sixth.

After the game we spoke to management team Tom Hayes and John Ramshaw and got their thoughts on the game.

Question: “Tom, a 3-2 defeat here at home to Quorn today, it must be a tough one to take?”

Tom Hayes: “Yeah I think we could have easily been more goals up at half time and I think the only issue we could have with the first half is that we did not score enough goals. Second half, we just did not do any of the things that make us a good team.

“We panicked in possession and despite starting off ok in the first ten minutes of the half, once they scored we did panic and resorted to sitting off and lumping the ball up the pitch with no real quality and the ball just kept coming back and it was the same thing over and over again and we did not change it in terms of what we did on the pitch and we just needed someone to grab the game and just get us higher up the pitch and secure the ball but it just never happened.

Question: “There’s a phrase in football John isn’t there, ‘A game of two halves’ and it certainly was today wasn’t it?”

John Ramshaw: “Yeah exactly. We take nothing away from Quorn. They seized the initiative in the second half and probably deserved the win in terms of what they did in the second half so congratulations to them. But yes it certainly was a game of two halves.”

Question: “Is it a worry Tom that both today against Quorn and last week away at Spalding that we have conceded three goals in a ten minute spell?”

Tom Hayes: “No because we will work hard to correct it. So you know it is not a concern and it is not us, it is not how we have been. We have probably conceded a few more goals recently than we would like to but it is not a concern because we back ourselves and we back the group to correct it.

Question: “John we’re straight back into action away at Coventry Sphinx on Tuesday night. How important is it to have the opportunity to bounce back so quickly?”

John Ramshaw: “It is always nice to have a quick fixture when you have lost a game like that. But look take nothing away from the boys, we are massively overachieving this year and I don’t think anyone can argue with that. We have got one of the lowest wage bills in the league yet we are still in the play off positions and still in a healthy position. A win on Tuesday night is essential and I would use the word essential if we want to maintain our charge towards the play offs so it is nice to be able to bounce back quickly."
